Vision in Silver by Anne Bishop is the 3rd book in the series The Others. It is not a stand-alone and you should read the first two Written in Red and Murder of Crows.

Vision in Silver Summary

Because of The Humans First and Last movement, the Others are growing more protective of their human pack in the Courtyard. Instead of thinking of them as non-biteable meat they are becoming allies and friends. This is a concept never even considered before Meg came, but now other Courtyards are looking to Simon as an example on how to interact with the humans around their Courtyards.

The cassandra sangue is having a hard time adjusting to the outside world. It’s too overwhelming and some of them are not surviving the change. This has everyone questioning if the previous prison-like living conditions of the compounds was safer then on their own. So it’s up to Meg the TrailBlazer to educate the caretakers of the cassandra sangue on how the ease the girls into their new life.

The Humans First and Last Movement are starting to make power moves and are gaining followers. Human business owners are starting to openly take sides and refuse to work with the Others. Families are starting to divide. There are rumors of a food shortage and material shortage. The Humans First and Last movement are trying to blame the others for these shortages. Before Meg Simon and the others had a simple way to deal with the “clever meat,” I mean humans. But since Meg, Simon has to find a more civil way to handle this before the humans endanger their human pack or the Courtyard itself.

My Star Rating Explained

Vision in Silver Review

Vision in silver is a sweet but still compelling story. I’m super invested in the characters. Meg and Simon’s romance is such a slow burn that the candle has to be relit. But they are taking very tiny baby steps. I think Simon has finally admitted that Meg is more than just a friend to him, kinda. It’s interesting to see the others bring more humans to their community.

The political plot of this series has become more intense. The Human’s First and Last movement are gaining traction and followers and no longer can be ignored by the Others. I can’t wait to read the next book to see where this goes from here.

All in all not super suspenseful. But still interesting and sometimes supper funny.
